Dear lovely Oliver Cantú arrived last evening from Monterrey.
We got him good & drunk last night for his welcome and locked the script last night.
Whew! Today is (theoretically) my last day as a writer production type and have started preparing as an actor by having great talks last night and will have my first small gentle scene to shoot Sunday.

Arthur (Mr. Cross in our story) arrives from NY in an hour; we only have four solid shooting days and nights with him starting tomorrow as he flies back Wednesday — so the first real push starts tomorrow. PRAY PLEASE.

Today we engaged Oliver’s wonderful negotiating skills and secured the Cocina I wanted as CROSS’ hangout. Having spent time there before, it is actually the place I pictured when I wrote it, so I’m very pleased about that.

Thank you Oliver, thank you Manuel Enclada of Tiburón in Chicxulub.
