Today, the old gentleman in our story, CROSS — who’s a retired Border Patrol man from Texas — introduces himself to our lead as Llewellen.
But the name our lead PETE was told he goes by is WAYLON. The older man explains that when he was a kid, kids heard the wellen part so they thought the name was Waylon so the nick name stuck, which he didn’t mind because he favoured Waylon Jennings at the time.
A wee village boy follows them during this exchange.
Cross essentially says scram to him affectionately, in Spanish Vamanos! and the wee boy yells Waylon Jennings! then runs away.
Rosso plays the little boy. (He is the son of Nelsi, the woman from Chicxulub that is catering for us.) So cute. He came to set wearing his own Jesus t shirt.
Said in advance we should pay him cash, so he can enjoy it as his own pocket money but I wasn’t there for that moment — apparently they paid him in ice lollies… hope mum’s ok with that!
SS
Postscript: Rosso got his cash before we wrapped the whole show of course. Apparently he was delighted and flaunting it in his sisters’ faces.
