After meeting Pedro Flores as our ad hoc transport co ordinator and realizing I met him my first trip to Mérida, I should not be surprised at other moments of serendipity…
When at the airport to pick up Arthur Pellman arriving from NY, I was amazed to turn around and see none other than Jim Mann — who represents my first introduction to Mérida.
He is a real estate agent extraordinaire and I think, quite the unofficial ambassador to Mérida. (I believe his career is a simple extension of his wonderful expansive personality and he and partner Kiyo Ortiz are just two of the nicest guys you’d wanna meet.)
At the airport Jim turned to the friend he was meeting without batting an eye and said in his inimitable Virginian cadence This is Samantha Swan, she’s a real trip — like we bump into each other there every day.
Got a funny email from him today in which he called me a Bad Girl for not telling him I was coming to the area. Can’t wait to spend some off time with him (will there be any off time?)
Feeling like the no-budget serendipity production…
