The Devil’s Tail logo designed by Craig Allen is really great – looks good on posters, the DVD covers and it will also look great on a little punk button too.
It has loaned itself really well to a stand alone image on t-shirts. We decided to get the work done by The T-Shirt Guys here in Toronto. In the tradition of features, there is always a crew jacket or t-shirt. In this case, the logo is so nice on its own we decided it should stand alone on t-shirts, rather then have it with other info identifying it as a movie, or the website or “Mexico 2008″ or whatever. It’s powerful in red on a black background.
We especially like The T-Shirt Guys for their approach; they use vegetable based dyes that don’t create toxic pollutants, their t-shirts are high quality cotton with good cuts (why is it true that good t-shirts are hard to find?) some of which are made in Canada, some of which are made in Mexico.
In keeping with our movie’s Canada-meets-Mexico roots, we went for 100% cotton Ts made in Mexico, with the design made here as I said by our own Craig Allen… implemented by Canadian company The T-Shirt Guys.
We’ve made 3 separate orders so far, the last one being just last week as a birthday gift for the child of our composers… The T-Shirt guys have always been quick to turn around orders, quicker usually then they say they’ll be… I was disappointed they were swamped, they couldn’t do a quick same-day order for me. The birthday was Sunday and The T-Shirt Guys are closed weekends, so I knew the gift would be late. Oh well…
They told me Monday or Tuesday so I was surprised when I didn’t hear from them all week. They always call me when the shirts are ready too… Chris checked in with them today I was really surprised the work was still not done. I knew they had been busy but that was outside my experience with them…
they called later, when it was too late for me to get there. It didn’t work for me leaving Ta2 recording studio and Chris was working until well after they’d close for the weekend.
Imagine my amazement when the owner of The T-Shirt Guys called me on my cell himself to let me know the order was ready – he was concerned a staff member had called someone other than me to notify that it was ready, as I had placed the order. When I explained I knew but was now unable to get there, he asked what area of town I was in as he would drop the order off to me himself.
“I wanna get a haircut now, is it ok if I drop it off when I’m done?”
Of course the answer was yes.
That’s Chris, the owner of The T-Shirt Guys in Toronto. You can’t get nicer or better than that.
Let us know if you want a Devil’s Tail t of your own… we’ve given them to people as gifts and we sold a few @ the local cast and crew screening, so soon it’ll be officially available on the site here!

Yes, put me down for a T, and if need be I’ll get it when I finally get my ass to Toronto.
